The FoodAtEase Score
Our scoring system is based on the Indian Nutrition Rating (INR) concept, adapted from international standards like Nutri-Score, but calibrated for the Indian context as per FSSAI draft guidelines.
How it works:
- We calculate a baseline score based on "negative" nutrients: Energy, Sugars, Saturated Fat, and Sodium.
- We subtract points for "positive" nutrients: Protein, Fiber, and Fruit/Vegetable/Nut content.
- The final score is mapped to a 0.5 to 5.0 star rating.
Daily Limits
We use the ICMR-NIN 2024 Guidelines for Indians to set daily limits.
Reference Daily Intake (Adults):
- Sodium 2000 mg
- Added Sugar 50 g
- Saturated Fat 22 g
When we say "Roz ki Hadd" (Daily Limit), we calculate how much of a product you can eat before hitting 100% of the limit for its most critical nutrient.
